Hey everyone,
I’ve been following the Proximus fiber rollout closely, especially since they were the global pioneer for Nokia's 25G PON technology using the Antwerp-developed Quillion chipset.
Right now, a lot of their high-speed 10Gbps and 25Gbps connections run out of existing central offices or smaller street-level Nokia Lightspan MF-2 cabinets. However, Nokia has its Generation 6 flagship OLT out, the Lightspan MF-14!
This thing is an absolute beast node. It features a massive 3.2 Tbps non-blocking switching matrix and 14 line slots designed to concurrently handle massive-scale 25G, 50G, and eventual 100G PON services on a single physical chassis.
Does anyone here with inside knowledge or wholesale visibility know if Proximus has started installing the MF-14 in Brussel,Antwerp or Vilvoorde central hubs yet? Or are they sticking strictly to the smaller MF variants and older FX series chassis for their current 25G roadmap?!
Curious to hear if anyone has spotted these 14RU giants in the wild or heard about hardware refresh timelines! Also i wanted to mention if some worker sees it, iam down to test 25G olt pon from Vilvoorde, i can buy my own 25G ont box for my Unifi Beast. idk if it works on 16 or 32 splitted fibers or i need a dedicated fiber line but yea, Maybe you guys step over 25G and go directly to 50G(even tho no symmetrical speed) after 2030-33 or after speculated date completing ftth for belgium. any dates? Also whats this TITAN Peoject exactly, is it the olt hub serversProject TITAN ? Thank You
